The dining room is really starting to come together! Hubby and I will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year, and I’m feeling the pressure to get this room finished in time for the big meal! In my last post I mentioned the dining room buffet and hutch I purchased off of Craigslist. It’s the closest match to the inspiration piece from my mood board, that I could find.
It’s actually the buffet/hutch that matches my dining set, purchased several years ago at World Market. WM no longer carries the buffet/hutch, and while I know that matched sets are no longer stylish, I like the fact that after a coat of paint, the matching legs and rustic hand-hammered top will pull the pieces together for a blended look.
My inspiration piece is painted a blue-grey, but realistically, I’m not going to have time to paint these pieces before Thanksgiving, so I’m just going to move them into the room and worry about the paint later (probably after the holidays). I’m excited about all of the extra storage and serving space they will provide during the holiday season. And I might be just a little more excited about having extra display space for my holiday decor.
What do you think? When’s the last time you’ve shopped Craigslist for the perfect piece?
Until next time…
