The dining room makeover is moving right along, I’m happy to say! The new paint color is up (Bedford Gray by Martha Stewart) and it is looking so much better. Hubby and I decided, at the last-minute, that we were going to dress the room up a bit by adding picture frame molding to the bottom 1/3 of the walls. Neither of us has done this before but we didn’t let that stop us! We found tons of information on the internet, and even a few helpful YouTube videos, and set right to work. Once we figured out our box measurements and placements, the rest was fairly easy. I will say that it was rather frustrating that we couldn’t find all of the information we needed in one place, so we may just put together our own tutorial, in case you are thinking about doing a similar project. But for now, I just wanted to share our progress with you.
Here is a “before” picture (again, I apologize for the crummy cell phone pictures… still can’t find my camera!):
There is still much work to be done, but I’m encouraged by how much better it looks, already. Do you have any experience installing picture frame molding? Any advice for a first-timer?
I’ll be back soon to share a few decor items I’ve picked up for the room… thank you so much for stopping by!
