Hi friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! I’ve been in fall crafting mode, whipping up projects as inspiration hits. One of those projects is this DIY Fall wreath I made to hang on my front door. I saw one at Kirkland’s a few weeks ago and loved it, but didn’t love the $80.00 price tag so I decided to make my own. I snapped a picture of the Kirkland’s wreath with my phone, then headed to the craft store to purchase the materials. It was easy to put together, but I made a little tutorial, just in case you’d like to try making one yourself.
1 large willow wreath
1 large burlap bow
3 small white pumpkins
3 willow pumpkins
3 burlap flowers (you can buy these pre-made, but I used this tutorial + 1/4 yard of fabric to make my own)
2 large bunches of fall leaves, cut into smaller bunches (3-4 leaves on each “stem”)
2 bunches of faux bittersweet, cut into small bunches
4 medium sized pine-cones
Using the Kirkland’s wreath as a guide, I did a couple of “practice runs”, before gluing anything down. Once I found an arrangement I liked, I took a picture with my phone so I would remember where everything went, then I removed everything and started over, gluing each piece to the willow wreath. I started with the bow…
Next were the pumpkins…
Then the pine-cones…
The burlap flowers…
And lastly the bittersweet and wheat…
Once everything was in place, I had hubby hold the wreath up so I could view it from a different perspective. I filled in any bare spots with more leaves and bittersweet…
Then I hung it on the front door.
I’ll be adding a few more things to my front porch over the next week, as I finish up my fall projects, but this wreath is a great start. Oh yeah, and the price? $35 dollars and some change after sale prices and coupons. It’s good to be cheap.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
