Thanksgiving Table Setting
Thanksgiving is officially only two weeks away! Can you believe it? I’m starting to get a little panicked thinking about my long to-do list, especially since illness recently rendered me useless for nearly a week! I’m finally feeling better so I decided to work on my Thanksgiving table setting.
We are hosting the big dinner at our house again this year, and I wanted a centerpiece deserving of the occasion, but also fairly casual feeling, since we’re not formal-type people. Honestly, I love the hydrangeas and pumpkins arrangement I made earlier in the Fall, and being behind schedule, I just didn’t want to spend extra time and energy coming up with something new when my current centerpiece just needed a little “dressing up” for more of a Thanksgiving feel.
I ended up adding some feathers and tree cuttings into the hydrangeas, then placed a few small candle votives around the base, for ambiance. A pretty, white scarf was layered on top of the burlap table runner, and cotton place mats were used under the dishware.
I also added brown and white transferware to the plain white dishes, and dressed up the napkins with a couple of feathers taped to the back of simple white place cards. Some goblets and silverware finish up the space.
They were simple, inexpensive changes that gave my Fall centerpiece a little more longevity, and I think it will work just fine for feasting a the “adult table”.
And now I can move on to styling the kid’s table…
What are you working on this week?
Until next time,
