Childrens’ Twirling Ribbons
I’m so glad you stopped by today, friends! It’s time for another Monthly Home Depot DIY Gift Challenge! Just in case you’re not familiar with the Monthly Gift Challenge, each month one blogger from our group of 12 will choose an item from Home Depot, then we each make a creative gift using that item. THEN, we use another item from the Home Depot to wrap our gift, with the recipient in mind. This month our item was a wooden dowel. I must say; I’m completely blown away with everyone’s projects! At the end of my post will be links to each of the other ladies’ posts – please make sure you stop by and see what they’ve created this month – I promise you’ll be just as amazed as I am!
This month’s chosen Home Depot item is a wooden dowel and the recipient is a child. I had my sweet nieces in mind when I thought of my project: colorful, fun twirling ribbons.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
Wooden dowel (mine was 3/4″ x 48″, which will make three twirlers)
Pencil or other writing instrument
Tape Measure
Saw (OR you can have the friendly sales associates at Home Depot cut the dowels to your measurements!)
Spray paint in your choice of colors
Glue gun/sticks
Ribbon (I purchased three spools, each 9 feet in length)
Instructions:
Measure and mark your wooden dowel, making three sections; each 16″ long
Cut your dowel (you will now have three pieces, to make the handles)
Paint your dowels
Glue your ribbon onto the end of your dowel, as shown in pictures 3 and 4
And that’s it! It couldn’t be much easier, right?
I hope you enjoyed this Home Depot Gift Challenge! Please make sure you stop by and visit the other talented bloggers participating in the challenge – just click on the pictures below to be taken to each site.
